Domestic Dollar Beer DraftsFrom outdoor drinks, to scarfing down festival food, to scoring an invite to the best rooftop parties, it’s a great time of year. It’s already mid-July, so make sure to squeeze in as many summertime activities as possible. This week is extra packed with things to do and zeppoles to eat.

Noteworthy Items

Set a World Record!

Do you know how to play a guitar, mandolin or ukulele? On July 24th, Dylan’s Guitar Bar will attempt to set a world record for the most most people playing one song at the same time. The event will be hosted at Sinatra Park and the set list includes “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” by Bob Dylan, “Glory Days” by Bruce Springsteen, “Heroes” by David Bowie and “Sweet Jane” by The Velvet Underground. St. Ann’s Italian Festival

This week kicks of the 104th St Ann’s Festival. Starting on Wednesday, July 23rd,  at 7th and Jefferson St there will be live music, food, games, a daily raffle, and an adhoc beer garden. Make sure to line up for the Italian Festival’s famous zeppoles! 

PRO TIP: If you plan on downing a zeppole or two (or three!), wear light colors and avoid black clothing at all costs. The powdered sugar will fly everywhere. But it’s so worth it. Learn about all upcoming Hoboken Festivals.

Bacon and Beer Classic at Citi Field

Sample bacon-treats and local craft brews at Citi Field this weekend. In between sips and bites, attend food demos, brew schools, take a swing at the dunk tank, try the inflatable bungee run and more. Top top it all off, Living Social is offering a nice discount.  Buy your ticket here!

  • JAWS SCREENING @ PIER13: At sunset, Pier 13 will be showing an outdoor movie, for the second time this summer. This week’s feature flick is JAWS, a Summer classic, directed by Steven Spielberg. Sunset is really around 8:30-9PM, but since Pier 13 didn’t specify an exact time, and in order to save seats, 7:30-8PM is probably the best bet for arrival time. View the movie synopsis here.

Wednesday, July 23rd

  • ITALIAN FESTIVAL: July 23rd is the first day of the 5-day long Italian Festival! The Italian Festival will be open from 6-11PM during the weekdays. There will be live musical events each night and a beer garden. On the 23rd, Dave Arellano, one of the previous winners of the Sinatra Idol contest will start of the festivities with some Frank Sinatra music, backed by the Bill Wilkinson Orchestra at 8PM.

  • OUTDOOR CONCERT: From 7-9PM in Church Square Park (near 4th & Garden) there will be a free outdoor concert starring Lyell Gressitt and The Mile Square All-Stars.

  • LIVE MUSIC: Listen to Frank Sinatra music at the Italian Festival backed by the Bill Wilkinson Orchestra at 8PM at St. Ann’s Church at 704 Jefferson.
  • TRIVIA @ Wicked Wolf: It’sTrivia Night every Tuesday, with 2 for 1 burgers and $15 beer towers. The prizes vary from week to week, but have been pretty sweet including Yankees tickets, Beats by Dre headphones and iTunes gift certificates.
  • TRIVIA @ Village Pourhouse: Check out their trivia special at 8PM.
