Hoboken Kayaking

The Hoboken Cove Boathouse offers free kayaking and paddle boarding on the weekends at Maxwell Place Beach. No reservations are required, everything is first come first serve. When it gets really busy outings are limited to 20 minutes.

The kayaking and paddle boarding is confined to decent-sized area in the Hudson river, to avoid all the boats.  If you’re feeling more adventurous, several times a month they offer river trips as well! All participants must know how to swim. Adult supervision is required for individuals under 16 years old. View the schedule below for details:

Hoboken River Trip Details

“The trips are usually 1-2 hours long and can be a real work out. Therefore, we run a short paddle test before we leave just to make sure everyone will be able to handle the trip. All participants must be at least 18 on the river trips. You must know how to swim. No real kayaking experience is necessary.”

15-20 people are selected for each River Trip. Due to the popularity of these trips, there is a lottery system.
